L.I.F.E. is a YouTube Channel for sharing the hobbies, activities, adventures, and travels of Matt and Sarah. Our primary goal is to help anyone struggling with mental illness, especially those who have considered taking their own life. We encourage them to think of ‘Life’ not only as a word, but also as an acronym and personal mantra:
Life Is For Enjoying
We know it can be challenging, but every time you leave your comfort zone, such as by trying an extreme sport or traveling somewhere you have never been, you are giving life and the world another chance to show what they have to offer. By staying in your own bubble and routine, you give all the negatives a chance to fester without giving new positives any opportunities to present themselves. With any luck, you could even find something that makes life seem more livable and perhaps even enjoyable! Even the most dangerous and deadly extreme sports have the potential to save someone’s life just by giving them hope and something to look forward to on their worst days.
We certainly agree that anyone seriously considering ending their own life should call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline immediately and then seek professional help. However, for those who are in the process of recovery, or for those who just need a little inspiration, motivation, or a reminder of what the world has to offer, we try our best to provide exactly that through high quality photos and videos.
After years of living with depression and anxiety, Matt finally reached a breaking point in 2013 and began working on his recovery. Along with professional treatment, part of this recovery included practicing photography and videography to record, relive, and share all the things that helped him regularly overcome these challenges. After experimenting with a number of different styles and names, his personal YouTube Channel ended up being ‘officially’ branded as “Life Is For Enjoying” in April 2017 and has kept that name as it continued to grow. That same year, the two of us got married, so the channel naturally became more of a team effort from that point forward.
